We have 4 courses at the Beginner level, totaling 40 lessons (60 course hours plus 60 homework hours). Our students will be using a practical and well-designed coursebook called “Japanese for Busy People 1”. We based our curriculum on this book to design our training with a strong focus on fluency skills, as we often find students coming to us looking for Japanese speaking course, not just reading and writing. Our in-house materials, including grammar notes, activity handouts, digital flashcards, and online assessments, are designed to help our beginner learners, and are available for our students for FREE.
As our Japanese Beginner graduate, you should be able to read and write Hiragana and Katakana well and speak Japanese with natural pronunciation. You should also acquire conversational skills to talk about basic daily life affairs, such as personal preferences, travel plans, shopping, and ordering in restaurants, among others.

- Can memorize 1500+ vocabularies, familiar with a couple hundred
- Can converse with a native Japanese speaker for more than 30 mins
- Have a good foundation of Japanese grammar
- Have a knowledge of 200 or less Kanji
There are 6 courses in this Upper Intermediate level, in total 60 lesson (90 course hours plus 90 homework hours). We’ve based our curriculum on the Japanese JLPT N3 standard, using the coursebook TRY! N3 and Minna no Nihongo 中级 I. However, our lessons aren’t solely focused on grammar. We still prioritize fluency skill training, using a variety of learning resources specifically designed for each lesson by our school.
Many students at this level would experience what most language learners experience – the Intermediate Plateau, i.e. you are not a Beginner anymore; you’ve invested a lot of time and effort to learn how the language works, yet your fluency skills are somewhere far from a native speaker.
We will focus on helping our students over this intermediate plateau by incorporating a lot of real-life material and a lot of conversational practice. To cover more complex grammar and vocabulary while still adhering to the basics required for N3, we will use TRY!N3 to set our curriculum. However, our lessons are structured to balance language function learning with cultural discussions and a lot of conversational practice to improve your fluency skills. That’s why we incorporate books like Marugoto and multi-media material to help students acquire natural conversational skills and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture. Students will learn about real daily life in Japan, not just from textbooks.
As an Upper Intermediate graduate, you should be able to achieve independent speaker skills. This means that your listening and speaking skills will be adequate to carry you through most conversations with native speakers, even when you lack some vocabulary. You should be able to explain yourself and get your point across effectively.
For private lessons, we also use other materials , including news paper, online articles, Youtube videos, etc. We offer lessons that best suit the student’s needs.

Level 5 Pre-Advanced Courses
We currently don’t organise any Level 5 and above Japanese group classes, because there is a limited amount of Japanese learners at this level in London.
At the N2 level, students are advancing towards upper-intermediate Japanese, focusing on mastering more complex grammar structures, expanding their vocabulary to around 6,000 words, and learning approximately 1,000-1,200 kanji. They study intricate sentence patterns such as conditionals, passive and causative forms, and nuances in similar expressions, which enable them to engage in more sophisticated conversations. Reading comprehension includes understanding newspaper articles, essays, and short stories, while listening exercises involve natural-speed dialogues and media broadcasts. Students also work on improving their fluency in speaking, participating in discussions on diverse topics, and expressing opinions accurately. Writing skills are developed through formal emails, reports, and personal essays, requiring a solid grasp of formal and informal language. Overall, N2 students are transitioning from basic communication skills to a level where they can handle more complex social, professional, and cultural contexts with greater confidence.
Our teachers are experienced in teaching this level, using materials such as Try! N2 and Minna no Nihongo 中级 II, as well as authentic sources like newspaper articles, online content, and YouTube videos. These resources help students develop natural conversational skills while deepening their understanding of Japanese culture.

Level 6 Advanced Japanese Courses
We currently don’t organise any Level 6 and above Japanese group classes, because there is a limited amount of Japanese learners at this level in London.
The N1 level is the level at which one can understand complex sentences and abstract expressions, and can comprehend the relationships between characters and details at the speed of daily conversation. Criticisms, political and economic articles with complex content, etc. will test your level of Japanese comprehension beyond the level of simple daily conversation.
To cover these skills, we use a TRY! N1 to cover the language function learning, and 上级日本语 for advanced reading and writing. Students will practice correctly understanding complex sentences and ambiguous Japanese expressions and receiving native speakers’ conversations and sentences without problems.
We would also recommend using real life material, such as newspaper, TV news, online articles, drama and movies for your learning. If you are learning Japanese for work, we would highly recommend you bring in your work material to study, our teachers can sign a NDA agreement to review the documents with you.
