Chinese luna New Year

Chinese Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China, symbolizing hope, reunion, and prosperity. It marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and is celebrated with vibrant decorations, dragon dances, and joyful gatherings.

Mid Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival or the moon festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, usually falling in September or October. It is a time for family gatherings and the main tradition involves enjoying mooncakes and admiring the full moon.

Red Lantern Festival

The Lantern Festival, also known as the Yuanxiao Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the first month in the lunar calendar. It marks the end of the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations, and it is considered one of the most significant festivals.

Dragon Boat Festival

A cherished Chinese tradition, this festival is a captivating celebration held on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Honoring the ancient poet Qu Yuan, colorful dragon boat races take center stage, accompanied by the aroma of zongzi (rice dumplings) filling the air.

qixi Chinese Valentine’s day

Akin to Valentine’s Day, this Chinese specific celebrates the mythical love between the Cowherd and Weaver Girl. On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, couples exchange gifts, pray for love, and celebrate romance.

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice Festival, also known as Dongzhi Festival, is celebrated on the shortest day and longest night of the year, it symbolizes the balance of yin and yang. Families gather to enjoy special foods like tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) and engage in customs that highlight unity, renewal, and the importance of the family.
