Making of Korean Travel Survival Tiktok course

Are you thinking learn some Korean from books before traveling to Korea? In a world saturated with knowledge, books have long been considered the first source. They offer a gateway to centuries of accumulated information, insights, and experiences. However, there are certain skills and experiences that elude the confines of printed pages. That’s why we created this Korean Travel Survival Tiktok course.  There is something cannot be effectively taught through books especially when it involves travels, culture and language learning. We are going to take you through the process of us making these videos. First, let’s try to understand why something can’t be taught through books.

The Dynamic Nature of Korean Language Learning

Language acquisition is a prime example of something that can’t be fully taught through books. While grammar rules, vocabulary lists, and language textbooks play a crucial role in language learning, they often fall short in capturing the dynamic, fluid nature of spoken language. We recognized that spoken Korean, especially the informal expressions commonly used in real life, requires real-life exposure and interaction. Books can’t replicate the nuances of pronunciation, slang, or cultural context that are crucial in a language’s practical application.

Cultural Immersion and Sensitivity

Understanding a culture goes beyond the surface level facts and statistics found in books. True cultural immersion involves experiencing the customs, traditions, and daily life of a community. When creating this Korean Travel Survival Tiktok course, we realized that teaching Korean culture required more than just reading about it. They had to understand the Korean local culture and traditions. This hands-on experience allowed you to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural nuances that could never be captured solely through reading.

Real-Time Engagement

Books can inform and educate, but they often fall short in creating interaction. The Korean Survival TikTok Course not only teaches language and culture but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. Learners can interact with us and ask questions and we will able to answer and chat to them in real time.  These valuable experience can’t be done through books.

With the above in mind, let’s go into details about how we created the Korean Travel Survival courses to bring something you can’t learn on books.

Goal Setting

The process begins with a brainstorming session involving our native Korean manager who grew up in Korean and has been teaching Korean to expats for many years. We define the course’s objectives and the key takeaways we want learners to gain. Questions like, “What are the most common challenges travellers face in Korea?” and “What essential language and cultural knowledge do they need?” to guide the discussion.

Identifying Real-Life Scenarios

To make the content practical and useful, we focus on real-life scenarios that travellers are likely to encounter. We consider situations such as ordering food at a restaurant, asking for directions, or shopping at a local market. By identifying these scenarios, we ensure that the content is directly applicable to travellers’ needs. For example, we will think of a scenario where you wants to order “Bibimbap,” a popular Korean dish. We also think about how to ask for the check when they are ready to leave the restaurant.

Cultural Insights and Nuances

Our Korean manager plays a pivotal role in providing cultural insights and nuances. She shares their experiences and cultural expertise, helping us to understand the dos and don’ts of Korean society. This input is invaluable for ensuring that learners not only communicate effectively but also show cultural sensitivity during their travels. For instance, there’s some dining etiquette to follow in Korea. It’s customary to bow slightly when addressing the waiter or waitress and that it’s polite to say “thank you” in Korean (감사합니다, pronounced as “kamsahamnida”) when receiving the order.

Relatable Content:

Once we have a clear understanding of the scenarios and cultural elements to cover, we began to create the content. Each video is carefully crafted to be concise, engaging, and informative. It is designed to ensure the content feels authentic and relatable.

In this way, the Korean Survival TikTok Course takes you through a dynamic and engaging process, using real-life scenarios, cultural insights, and practical phrases to empower you to confidently navigate Korea without any issues. We continually adapts and expands to meet the needs of the modern travels, ensuring that it remains a valuable and relevant resource for you travelling to Korea.
