Your Korean Beginner 1 course is first step to speak Korean.

It’s designed for complete beginners to learn Korean Hangeul (the Korean phonetic system), so students can achieve natural pronunciation, read and write well at this very first step.

Our topics in this course include greetings, self-introduction, two number system, shopping and going around. Our key grammar points covered include: Be verb – 이에요/예요, 이/가 아니에요;  Particle-은/는, 이/가, 을/를, Ending for conjugation아/어요, -(으)세요, 에 가다, 하고.

class Material

We are using Sejong Korean course books imported directly from Seoul. In this Beginner 1 course, you will be using Book A, and workbook A up to Unit 4.

Besides the coursebook and workbook, our academic team has designed many other free resources for our teachers and students. These material are included in the student’s tuition, including this free Korean online course for them to review and catch up on each lesson of this Korean Beginner 1 course.

If you haven’t bought the coursebook set yet, you can find them in our store. You can also access to the course book and the work book online.

Lesson 1

In this lesson, you will learn briefly learn about the history of 한글(Hangeul)! Then, let’s learn basic Vowels and consonants! In the end, you are going to be able to read some basic Korean letters.

Lesson 2

In this lesson, you will learn about Diphthongs with /y/ Vowels, Plosive Consonants and 받침(Batchim) which is the final consonant. You will be able to write and read more complicated letters!

Lesson 3

In this lesson, you will learn about common expressions in the classroom. Also, explore more Diphthong Vowels with /w/ sound and finally let’s learn some important pronunciation rules.

Lesson 4

In this lesson, you will learn about various Countries and jobs then introduce ourselves in Korean. Also, let’s study -이에요/예요 and subject particle 은/는.

Lesson 5

In this lesson, you will learn about Sino-Korean Numbers and Counters and then let’s share your phone number and email address with other classmates! Additionally, we are going to look through subject particle 이/가 and negative form 이/가 아니에요.

Lesson 6

In this lesson, you will learn about prepositions, which are 이/그/저 and lots of Things and Places in Korean. Then, let’s make a sentence with 있어요 and 없어요. You are going to able to explain where the place or the thing is.

Lesson 7

In this lesson, you will learn some Verbs and how to read Time in Korean. We can use -아요/어요 conjugation and object particles 을/를 then, you are going to be able to explain what you are doing and the time.

Lesson 8

In this lesson you will learn new vocabulary words for Places and Food in Korean and use -에(location particle) 가다(verb) and 하고(and) to explain where you go!

In this lesson you will learn Native Korean Numbers and counters. There are various counters for different items in Korea. In the end, you will be able to count items with the correct counter.
