Central to Zen gardens is “wabi-sabi\,” celebrating imperfection and simplicity. Rocks\, gravel\, sand\, and moss create minimalist compositions\, evoking serenity and timelessness. Rocks and gravel symbolize natural formations\, inviting contemplation on impermanence and interconnectedness. Raked patterns suggest fluidity and movement. The “kare-eda\,” or dry landscape\, with rocks and gravel\, evokes vastness and emptiness\, prompting reflection on life’s impermanence. Natural elements like moss and bamboo add texture and depth\, reflecting interconnectedness. Zen gardens serve as spiritual sanctuaries\, fostering mindfulness and presence. The philosophy of Zen Buddhism emphasizes acceptance and simplicity\, reflected in garden design. In Zen gardens\, one finds solace\, quieting the mind and connecting with nature’s rhythms. Ultimately\, they remind us of simplicity and inner peace amidst life’s chaos.

The Daruma doll is said to grant wishes and help you accomplish your goals. It is a great opportunity to set your new year learning resolutions and wishes. \n\n\n\nbuy ticketsSubmitting form\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nthis will interest you\n\n\n\nWe can’t wait to share this special day with you\, our school’s first ever Open Day and new term welcome party! Join us in ushering in the New Year with a celebration of Korean\, Japanese and Chinese language learning and cultural diversity\, alongside an inspiring theme of the traditional Daruma Doll for setting new year resolutions. \n\n\n\nThe Daruma Doll tradition takes centre stage at the event. The doll usually comes in blank eye\, you have to first set your language learning resolutions and other wishes by filling in one eye of your personalized Daruma Doll. As you progress in your language studies\, you can complete the other eye\, representing accomplishment of your goals. The idea is that as you work towards your goal or wish\, the Daruma Doll serves as a constant reminder of your commitment and determination. Its rich history and symbolism make it a meaningful and cherished tradition\, not only during the New Year but throughout the year as a reminder of personal growth and achievement. \n\n\n\nWe will be serving Asian snacks and tea at our reception\, you can connect and share your experiences with fellow language enthusiastic and students. You may also try your hand at the traditional Korean Tuho game\, team up with your new friends\, adding an exciting touch and fun to the party. \n\n\n\nIf you are coming for the Open Day\, you’ll have the chance to explore our diverse range of Korean\, Japanese and Chinese language courses cater for different learning levels and style.
