You may find Korean wearing Hanbok during Seollal. Wearing Hanbok during the Korean New Year is a multi-faceted practice that encompasses respect for tradition, family unity and a celebration of cultural heritage. It adds a layer of meaning and reverence to the festivities of Seollal, making it a special and culturally resonant time of year. You will have a chance to try on this traditional garment with beautiful embroidery and vibrant colours, you will be able to fully experience and connect to centuries of Korean heritage and festive spirit.
Alongside traditional Korean snacks, food and tea at the event, you can also try your hand on a popular Korean game Tuho, also known as arrow throwing. The game involves tossing arrows into a narrow-necked jar. Tuho symbolizes unity, aiming for success, and warding off evil spirits. The act of throwing the arrow aligns with the desire for a prosperous and fortunate year ahead. This celebration promises an enriching language and cultural experience for all.
