Chinese new year is the perfect time for our Dumpling Party! Every culture around the world has a form of dumpling. They all come in different sizes and shapes and represent different symbolic meanings. In this cooking class, you will learn the role dumplings play in Chinese culture, their importance in a family reunion and how it signifies prosperity due to the dumpling’s resemblance to ancient Chinese money.
In this dumpling making party, you will be following the dumpling recipe together with your friends / family or on your own. You will learn how to make dumplings from scratch from the dough to the fillings, and how to fold dumplings in 3 ways. You can customise your own fillings, so this party is for everyone!
About the Event
When: we run the dumpling party mostly on demand for corporate events or private parties. For special occasions like the Chinese New Year, we open for public bookings at the best price we can offer. The making takes about 1.5 hours, followed by sitting down to enjoy your freshly made dumplings with the group.
Where: our venue is a beautifully decorated kitchen and private dining space 5 mins from Aldgate station or 8 mins from Liverpool Street station. It’s a café by day. On the day of the event, you can see our reception on the ground floor through the glass doors, the event will take place downstairs where the kitchen and private dining space are.
Who: all are welcomed! The party is suitable for everyone, even under 18s as long as accompanied by parents. We can cater to most dietary requirements since every guest can customize your own dumpling fillings.
How much: it’s only £49 per person! Probably one of the best priced dumpling making workshops in London.
What is included: All the dumplings you make! Authentic Chinese tea at reception, and surprise winner prizes for our Culture Master Quiz and Dumpling Beauty Pageant.
What to bring: Your own apron if prefer to use one. Tupperware if you should need to take away dumplings for home.

We can cater to vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten free.
However, the menu for this event contains allergens such as nuts, shellfish, gluten and egg. If you have allergies to any, please contact us at least 7 days before the event.
Refund policy:
Tickets are only refundable 7 days before the event.
Our tickets can be transferred to other people given that you notify us your change of plan with details of the new participant.
